Caring for destination
Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:
Contributions to the Indigenous Community
Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Every tourist who visits the Lost City, the ancient indigenous settlement of the Tayrona tribe, will automatically support the indigenous communities and the small farmers who live in this area today. The indigenous people have a special agreement with the travel agencies which operate there and which include these contributions to the local people in the tickets they sell for tourists who want to get to know this fantastic place.
You are not allowed to access to Ciudad Perdida on your own. You have to go with a professional and exclusively for the Lost City certified tourist guide who knows everything about the area and for that you won't get lost. These guides also take care that tourists learn to appreciate the natural treasure and that the ecological paths aren't damaged or widened.
