In the middle of the 1950's, the department of Magdalena started constructing the first high-level hotel project in the bay of Rodadero: the hotel Tamacá. In the indigenous language, that means "big house at the beach."
In 2010, the Tamacá group also incorporated Hotel Cañaveral and now we have the Tamacá Beach Tower and the Tamacá Northern Tower.

The Hotel Tamacá offers both standard rooms and luxury rooms with view of the Caribbean Sea. Rooms have air- conditioning, direct beach access, the restaurant Maanasú and the Cocos bar, swimming pools for adults and children, a children park, gym, event halls, private parking, golf facilities, safes, telephone service with NDD and IDD, an internet hall, wireless internet access, laundry service and room service.

Children policy:
- Children between 5 and 12 years of age will be required to pay the indicated price
- Infants only pay the hotel assurance of 5000 pesos (2.5 USD) per night

If you are a Colombian citizen, you have to pay the VAT of 10% at the hotel reception. Foreign tourists who do not live in Colombia don't have to pay the VAT (IVA).

- In peak season, cancellations must be made at least 15 days prior to check-in.
- The first night will be charged for cancellations made after the deadline.
