Minca is the first town on the way to the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta. Only 30 minutes from the city of Santa Marta (14 kms), the vegetation changes completely and the temperature falls down to 20 degrees.
You will note the presence of the Sierra Nevada and the river Minca crossing a large part of the town. This village is also a typical coffee producer, and you can buy organic coffee from the Sierra Nevada. You can enjoy your stay, make excursions either to the river or to the "pozo azul"- the blue fountain, explore the hiking trails and buy delicious ecological coffee!
Reina (Queen) is the owner of this marvelous place and if you get to know her, you will feel her positive energy and motivation, what is absolutely necessary to create and maintain this oasis in Minca. She and her husband offer one of the best restaurant services in Santa Marta, with specialty Italian plates. The locals love this restaurant as much as the tourists and it is common to see them lunching here on the weekends. Since the location is 30 minutes by taxi from Santa Marta, you will find the accommodation far away from the heat and the city noise and you will be able to enjoy the Sierra's Sound!
