This trip to Cabo de la Vela is an incredible adventure to the most northern area of South America- the opposite of Ushuaia in the South of Argentina, where you will find a very special and kind of mystical atmosphere.

After visiting Manaure and the salt complex- once you leave the normal road in Uribia, you will see how useful it is to realize this tour with a Land Cruiser, especially in the winter months from august to December. So you will experience a road consisting of earth during 2 hours and then you arrive to a desert- like place next to a white sandy beach and clear waters of very special colours - Cabo de la Vela is the most visited tourist destination of La Guajira; it has paradisiacal beaches and excellent landscapes of hills, sand and salt constellations and all this next to the fabulous Caribbean Sea. It is also an ideal place for water sports, walks and bicycle trips.

The accommodation facilities at Cabo de la Vela are managed by the Wayuu families, and there are also restaurant services so that you can get to know the local dishes of la Guajira like Pargo fish, Mojarra, or even shrimps (langostas) or ¨chivo¨, a speciality of the area...

A local guide will teach you about the culture of the Wayuu, the indigenous people of La Guajira, their traditions and habits. You will learn that their social system is led and managed by women and lots of other interesting things...
